DMK Contracting was engaged to deliver stormwater infrastructure works on Section 7 of the Mt Messenger Bypass project, including the installation of 450 mm and 900 mm stormwater pipelines.

With works taking place within active waterways, careful coordination with the project’s environmental team was required throughout delivery. Fish were removed from affected sections of the waterways before excavation commenced, allowing the team to prepare the stream bed for installation.

Bidem geotextile was laid and covered with aggregate to establish the prepared base before the stormwater pipework was installed. A protective aggregate surround was then formed around the pipeline before the area was backfilled.

The works required DMK to combine specialist stormwater installation capability with careful environmental management and close collaboration with the wider project team.
