What We Did
DMK Contracting was engaged by Fulton Hogan to deliver water and stormwater infrastructure works as part of the Mānāia Rehab Upgrade on Tauhuri Street.
The water main works included the installation of approximately 70 metres of 125 mm PE pipe, along with gate valves, hydrants, tees and associated fittings. Electrofusion (EF) welding was completed across the pipework and stub flanges before the new line was chlorinated and pressure tested. Once testing was successfully completed, the team carried out the final connection into the existing water network.
Following completion of the water main, DMK installed the new stormwater infrastructure, including 300 mm PVC pipe and 1050 mm OD manholes. The team then completed reinstatement of the work areas, bringing the project through from underground installation and testing to final completion.

Outcome
Following installation of the new 125 mm PE water main, DMK completed electrofusion welding across the pipework and stub flanges before chlorinating and pressure testing the new line. Once testing was successfully completed, the team carried out the final connection into the existing water network.
With the water main complete, the team progressed into the stormwater works before completing reinstatement of the work areas, taking DMK’s scope through from initial underground installation to final completion.
